RES Supports USAID DART with Advanced Radiation Simulation for International Disaster Response Training
Recently, Radiation Emergency Services had the honor to support as the expert exercise planning team and scientific support for an exercise designed to train the Disaster Assistance Response Team (DART) from the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) on how to support response activities complicated by radiological contamination.
Our team created the scientific simulation of a radiation based disaster that impacted Romania from outside of their borders. We also leveraged our simulation software, RadTeamSim.Route and RadTeamSim.Flight, to further provide realistic and immediate feedback surrounding the simulated radiation disaster. The exercise was very rewarding, and we look forward to future events to support improved training and preparedness for disasters complicated by radiation.
